• Linux Mint is generally less susceptible to malware and viruses compared to Windows 10. Linux Mint also provides more control over privacy settings, allowing users to determine what data is collected and shared. If you have used Windows, then the layout whilst not identical has a familiar feel and in a very short while the usual apps etc can be located and run.
• It comes pre-installed with LibreOffice and Thunderbird again whilst not identical will give a familiar feel to the Microsoft Office Suite.
  Windows 10 is shortly falling into the pit of unsupported software with Windows 11 being the next progression but only if the equipment you are using meets the strict Microsoft criteria. 
• Linux Mint provides Long-Term Support (LTS) releases which are supported for a duration of 5 years. The advantage here is the upgrade route to a newer version is by far less intrusive and its appetite for your system resources is slimmed down from hungry hippo to sated penguin.
• The installs do have passwords on but these are set to Password.
