Fair: The battery still charges normally but is approaching the end of its usable life. It's recommended to consider replacing it soon. Or as stated in the BIOS

Poor: The battery no longer provides sufficient power and may not hold a charge for very long. Replacement is recommended. Or as stated in the BIOS

Unknown/Not holding charge/short charge: The battery either no longer holds a charge or operates, its status cannot be determined. AC adapter will have to be attached during usage unless a new battery is purchased separately. Or as stated in the BIOS.
